Crockpot Italian Sausages with Sweet Bell Peppers recipe
Ingredients:
1/4 cup olive oil
6 pounds Italian sausage links
6 red bell peppers, sliced
4 green bell peppers, sliced
3 large onions, sliced
6 cloves garlic, chopped
2 (28-ounce) cans chopped tomatoes, with juices
1 (12-ounce) can tomato paste
½ cup red wine
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon dried basil
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried parsley
½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
½ teaspoon black pepper
Directions:
1. Heat olive oil in a large heavy skillet over medium high heat. Add sausage and cook until browned on all sides. Transfer to slow cooker.
2. Add remaining ingredients slow cooker; cook on low 8 to 10 hours, until softened and slightly thickened.
