Braised Italian Sausage and Cabbage recipe

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 pound spicy Italian sausage, cut into 2-inch diagonal slices
1 red onion, sliced
1 cup sliced cabbage
½ cup dry white wine
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
Crackers and spicy mustard, for serving

Directions:

1) Heat oil in a large skillet over medium. Add sausage and cook until browned on all sides and no longer pink, about 8 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, remove sausage and set aside.

2) Add onion and cabbage to skillet; cook until softened and light golden, stirring occasionally, about 5 minutes. Add wine and reserved sausage; bring to a boil over high heat. Simmer until liquid is almost evaporated, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Serve with crust bread or crackers and spicy mustard.
